Technology has made life easier in the way that everything is easier to access. It is important that everyone is able to get to their own healthcare information. Many doctors offices and hospitals have switched over to Electronic Health Records. Many places with these also have a personal health record you can access. Intermountain Healthcare has My Health. My health allows you to view previous lab results, vital signs, vaccine records etc. You can also see doctors notes on the results. You can find the nearest doctors, schedule visits, and many other things.
Websites that have personal information, like medical, the will always be password protected, they have a username as well. The only person who can access the information are those with the username and password. If you give these names out to someone, you are giving them the okay to view your personal health information. If you don't want people to know, don't give out the info.
I personally enjoy being able to access my own health information without having to contact the doctors. Although you may have concerns with privacy issues, it might be worth it to look into.
